John Abraham was born in Dundee, South Africa in 1964. Raised with the Zulu people John spoke Zulu before he spoke English. This fluency and intimate knowledge of the Zulu customs has stood him in good stead for his Safari life.
John founded Madubula Safaris in 1990. Met his wife Lauri in Texas in 1991 and married in 1992. They have two boys, Kye and Talon both at Texas A&M
After leaving high school John served in a special branch of the military till the end of the border war. He also studied electrical engineering but never followed that path rather followed his passion to hunt. His career has seen him outfit and guide hunts in Ethiopia, Uganda, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and South Africa.
In 2007 John was the SCI International Professional Hunter of the Year. Madubula Safaris has received the SA professional hunter of the year award five times. In August last year John and Lauri moved to Texas and they now continue to run Madubula Safaris from here.
